Where to Find the Best Los Angeles Beaches to Watch the Sunset

Living at One Museum Square in Mid-city Los Angeles gives you close access to just about everything. In fact, we are just a short walk from some of the best museums and restaurants in Los Angeles. While we are not a walk away from the Los Angeles beaches, we are still an easy drive away. Whether you are a photography lover or are looking for something romantic to do on a first date, here are our favorite beaches to watch the sunset from in Los Angeles.

The Best Los Angeles Beaches to Watch the Sunset

The Santa Monica Pier

We all know and love Santa Monica. It is also one of the many parts of Los Angeles that are just a short drive away from your luxury apartments for rent on Wilshire Blvd. With its location, it seems fitting to start off our list with the Santa Monica Beach Pier. You will find the pier at the end of Route 66, and there are actually two adjoining piers for you to choose from. No matter which one you choose, you will gaze upon a gorgeous beach sunset along with their iconic Ferris wheel on one of the piers. Fun fact, the pier with the Ferris wheel has a different light show on it every night.

Manhattan Beach Pier

Piers and beaches come hand in hand. In addition to Santa Monica, one of our other favorite beach piers is Manhattan Beach. Surfers and photographers alike are fond of this beach sunset spot, and we think you will be too. The pier and sky are always picturesque, with or without clouds.

Point Dume State Beach

Up next we have Point Dume State Beach in Malibu. If you want unobstructed views of the sunset from any direction, this is the spot. One unique feature about Point Dume is that it is a bluff-lined point, and the views expand out into the Pacific Ocean. If you are going down for photos, the views from the Northwest have excellent shots of Zuma Beach. If you are lucky, you may find some dolphins playing in the water.

El Matador State Beach

Let’s wrap up or dazzling views of the California coastline at El Matador State Beach. This spot is around 50 minutes away from your apartments for rent in Los Angeles. It can be found between the Leo Carrillo State Beach and Point Dume State Beach in Malibu and is a photographer’s dreamland. Like many of our favorite photos of California beaches, El Matador has several sea caves and rock formations that add something special to this beach sunset.
