One of the greatest luxuries of living at One Museum Square in Miracle mile is being surrounded by art museums. The word museum is even in our name, as we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the best museums in LA. From LACMA to The Broad, there are plenty of museums just a short walk or drive away that are more than worth the visit. If you’re looking for a fun weekend or a great first-date idea, head to the best museums to visit near OMS.
LACMA
Starting with the closest museum to OMS, Los Angeles County Museum (LACMA) is well worth a day spent exploring. Visit two Los Angeles sites with one go by touring the La Brea Tarpits while you visit LACMA. Aside from their permanent collection, they have a number of visiting exhibitions as well. Catch the exhibit Mixpantli: Space, Time, and the Indigenous Origins of Mexico or Mixpantli: Contemporary Echoes.
You’ll easily be able to enjoy the art here for hours. They have a number of works of art that make for a perfect photo op. Go with a friend or two and get the perfect picture to post for 2022.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

The Broad

Their temporary exhibition, showing until April, is called Since Unveiling. This collection includes a wide variety of pieces, as well as an hour-long musical film piece that you’ll want to catch part of while you visit. The Getty
The Getty is home to some of the greatest art pieces of a multitude of centuries. This museum holds historical works of art that you might not get the chance to see anywhere else. Although this museum is a short drive away from your apartment in Mid Wilshire, many people come from all over the world to see their many exhibits. See a portrait of Louis XIV or the work of Van Gogh.
As if the works of art weren’t reason enough to head over and visit one of the best museums near OMS, the views from The Getty Center are some of the greatest. Head over on a clear day and you’ll see all the way from Downtown Los Angeles to the coastline of Santa Monica. If you’re looking for even more scenery, head to The Getty Villa. This second location is in the Pacific Palisades and is just as great of a site to see as the Getty Center.
Petersen Automotive Museum
